9:14 a.m. A woman reported that $3 in quarters and a pack of breath mints had been taken from her car. There are no suspects or leads in this case.

Wednesday, Feb. 11

10:47 a.m. At the request of the Mancos Marshal’s office, a police officer issued a summons to a woman for theft after an investigation showed she took money from a donation jar set out to get money for Mancos student with medical issues and another jar set out to raise money for a school trip.

Powers to train as Navy pilot

Jack Powers, 22, a 2011 graduate of Montezuma-Cortez High School, has received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of New Mexico. As a Naval ROTC student, he has also earned a commission as a Navy officer. In March, he will report to Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fla., and will commence training as a student Naval aviator.
