Lawsuit alleges lack of environmental studies invalidates lease sales

Gunnison sage grouse chicks are so rare the bird has been listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
This sage brush plain near Dove Creek was put under a conservation easement in 2015 to protect Gunnison sage grouse. In cooperation with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, 502 acres were replanted with sage brush in 2011.
