Marc Katz, co-founder of Mercury Payment Systems, recently had composting toilets installed at Ewing Mesa. Katz purchased 1,850 acres on the mesa, which he may donate for public use.
Composting toilets turn human waste into fertilizer. After the toilet is used, sawdust covers the waste. Eventually, the contents go to a composting bin.
