New trailhead proposed off N. Mildred Road

Evans donates more public access to Geer Natural Area
Keith Evans takes down no trespassing signs on his land next to Geer Park that he recently opened to the public. In an agreement with Cortez, Evans agreed to share five miles of single-track he built on his land, bringing the total trail-loop distance in the open-space area to 10 miles.
This map shows Keith Evans’ property adjacent to the Geer Natural Area and a proposed trail extension to the east. He leased 40 acres of the land to the City of Cortez for public access and built a network of trails. Evans is proposing to offer additional access to the Geer Natural area via his land from N. Mildred Road just north of Southwest Memorial Hospital.
Paul Evans rides one of the new Carpenter mountain bike trails. The trails go along a pond in the industrial park.
