Seven cars towed in middle of night from Purple Cliffs homeless camp

La Plata County Sheriff’s Office says residents had plenty of warning
Signs on both sides of La Posta Road (County Road 213) near the Purple Cliffs homeless camp warn drivers against parking on the side of the road. The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office towed seven cars early Monday because they were parked along the road.
A dumpster is overflowing with trash Monday at the Purple Cliffs homeless camp south of downtown Durango. The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office said it is working with residents to clean up the campground.
