The first baby born in 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center arrived at 3:39 a.m. Tuesday. Parents Gabe and Jayleen Vera said that Coryn Jay Vera weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces. She joins the family with her sister, Jozy. The Veras live in Durango. As of Tuesday evening, Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez was still waiting for its first baby of the year.
