Here are some safety tips before you hit the grill:
Use propane and charcoal grills outdoors
Place the grill a distance away from your house, deck railings and overhanging branches
Put some safety rules in place for your kids
Clean your grill often, and don't leave it unattended.

Fishing with Dad
Fishing is a classic Father's day activity, and since it's also the first day of summer, the weather should be plenty warm enough for hanging out on the water or on the shore.
The river may still be running too swift to fish, but the lakes and reservoirs look promising.
Head out to McPhee, Groundhog, Narraguinnep or Summit Reservoir, don't forget to bring sunscreen, and remember to thank the dad figure in your life for all those days spent teaching you about the world and the little moments that make your time with him special.
Moose patio is open
The Naked Moose Restaurant has opened its patio for the summer and invites the community to come enjoy the fresh air, which pairs nicely with their lunch specials.
Boggy Draw gets new Loop
Southwest Colorado Cycling Association volunteers constructed a new quarter-mile of trail up at Boggy Draw.
The Boggy Draw Loop now starts in front of the sign and map kiosk in the main parking lot. The new trail crosses the dirt road after a quarter-mile and connects to where the Loop previously began.
SWCCA reports that the Loop, Maverick, and Italian trails are the least muddy at this time. They have been busy updating and maintaining a number of trails in the area with new kiosk maps and signs. Carpenter, Geer, Sagehen, and Carsonite have received recent attention.
Free lunch at the library
The Dolores Public Library has a new sign up for the summer with a watermelon on it, which is perfect for June.
The sign proclaims, 'Free lunch.'
Through a partnership with the Piñon Project, all children ages 1-18 can receive a free lunch at the library from 11:30 - 12:30 every weekday. If you are interested in helping with similar opportunities, The Piñon Project is currently hiring.
Eating high on the hog
There will be a pig roast on the beach with live music by "Fried Baloney," on Saturday, June 20, at the Riverfront Bar and Grill in Dolores. Music starts at 2 p.m. For more information call 970-560-2591.
