Jan. 31: The Permaculture Provision Project will host a dinner and a screening of the film “Greening the Desert” at 6 p.m. at the Sunflower Theatre, at Main and Market streets in downtown Cortez. “Greening the Desert” is a dramatic short film regarding the revolutionary effect that Permaculture can have on the planet. Feb. 15: The Sunflower Theatre is proud to present singer songwriter Dan Bern with opening act the Carl Johnson Trio on Sunday at 7 p.m. Bern is known for his prolific song writing and electric live persona and has released eighteen albums since 1997. Opening act will be the Carl Johnson Trio, with Johnson on the pedal steel, Chuck Barry (former lead man for the Beautiful Loser) and Justin Richert.
