Insect inspectors

Insect inspectors

Carol Bylsma talks about butterflies Sunday at Mancos State Park. Participants in the insect and butterfly walk caught and released a variety of insects, and Bylsma discussed and helped identify them. Programs at the park are free, but every vehicle must pay $7 a day or $70 for an annual pass. Mancos State Park continues to offer environmental education programs this weekend. Bylsma will lead a butterfly and insect walk again from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23. Participants will learn to identify, catch and release butterflies and insects. From 3 to 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Bylsma will lead “Wild Games”, and participants, both kids and adults, will learn all about Colorado’s wildlife. From 10 to 11 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, Bylsma will lead another butterfly and insect walk. For more information about Colorado’s state parks, go to cpw.state.co.us.
