Let me be your "Valentine" today, and every Valentine's Day. This sweetie is a very cuddly long-haired gray neutered male cat. He is a big boy, adores attention, and loves to sit in the window and watch the birds. He was found this winter in town, living under a big spruce tree. Valentine was brought to the shelter in the hopes of finding him the kindhearted human and the home that he deserves - a gift better than any box of chocolates. Due to an influx of adult cats, the shelter is offering 50 percent off on cat adoptions through Saturday, February 16. The shelter is also having their second annual Doggy Day Spa fundraiser this Saturday where dogs and their owners will both get some pampering; call the shelter for your reservation. Or come adopt one of these many hopeful cats in need of a chance. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be closed this Friday. The fee for adoption includes spaying or neutering, vaccination, microchip and health exam. The shelter could use donations of cleaning supplies such as paper towels, liquid dish soap and unscented bleach. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
