Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

Tabbies on Parade seems to be the theme this week at the Cortez Animal Shelter. This sweet little man desperately needs a home; he has been at the shelter for over a month. A beautiful tawny-colored tabby, he has big emerald-colored eyes, with a cute round and distinguished face. This neutered male is a young adult, about one-year old. He is so loving and affectionate, and also loves to play. When first encountered, he appears very sad. However, once shown some affection, this boy blooms like a flower and his personality immediately appears. He'll also be a good mouser. The shelter has tabbies of every variety, in shades of gray, brown, or tones of russet - some are small, some big and brawny (including a great big boy named Tank), some with white feet, one with long hair, one who is mostly white with tabby patches, and one who is orange. All of them are people-oriented and eager to please; all have obviously been someone's pet at one time. They are all wondering why they ended up at the shelter, hoping for a home. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be open this Friday. The fee for adoption includes spaying or neutering, and vaccination. The shelter could use donations of cleaning supplies such as paper towels, liquid dish soap and unscented bleach. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
