The following local students graduated from Fort Lewis College on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012:
Shea Sena of Cortez, received a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts with a major in Exercise Science - Exercise Specialist Option.
Kristina Umberger of Dolores received a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts with a major in Accounting.
Jedidiah Hanson of Mancos received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology - Environmental & Organismic Biology Option.
Ciara Miesler of Cortez received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology.
Matthew Sturdevant of Cortez received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology - Environmental & Organismic Biology Option.
Jylissa Tahy of Cortez received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Athletic Training.
Kayla Watkins of Cortez received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English - Writing Option.
Nearly 200 students participated in the December commencement ceremony. The commencement speaker, associate professor of history Jennifer Stollman, encouraged the new graduates that positive change is possible.
