Boyd Lopez, Sun Dance chief and spiritual leader with the Ute Mountain Ute tribe, gave a traditional blessing at the swearing-in ceremony of new county officials Tuesday. Before an audience of about 80 people, Lopez wished them physical health and sound decision-making. Returning commissioner Steve Chappell, left, joined new commissioners Keenan Ertel and Larry Don Suckla at the front, along with Will Furse, new district attorney for the 22nd Judicial District.
