Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

"Midnight" exhibits her smile and joyous personality in the noon-day sun. This sweet girl was the lone remaining dog left unadopted at the Cortez Animal Shelter after the "12 Strays of Christmas" program. A medium size 4-1/2 year-old black Labrador mix, Midnight found herself at the shelter after being surrendered by her owners when they moved. She has already been spayed and is current on her rabies vaccinations as well, so is good to go. She gets along great with other dogs, cats and kids. She has an interesting habit: She likes to point. Midnight also likes playing with her toys, and has no known bad habits, such as barking or digging. She has been at the shelter a month now. Midnight deserves a chance to have a family again; she will be a great family pet. The shelter also has some nice, loving cats, including a big, gorgeous seal point Siamese and a beautiful tortoiseshell, plus some other dogs - all share a quest for a forever home. Make the new year a happy one for a homeless - and hopeful - furry friend. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be open this Friday. The fee for adoption includes spaying or neutering and vaccination. The shelter would love donations of large size rawhide chews and some new cat toys. They can also use non-clumping cat litter and cleaning supplies such as paper towels, dish soap and unscented bleach. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
