The Mancos Public Library is having a silent quilt auction on Sunday, Nov. 18. The various quilts to be auctioned are hanging around the library for viewing and can be bid on from now until 6 p.m. on Sunday. Pictured is a Stained Glass quilt, 45” by 45”, hand-quilted and paper-pieced, with a rod pocket. The starting bid is $45. At right is a Village Applique quilt, with a Flying Geese border, 35” by 40”, hand appliqued and quilted, with a rod pocket for hanging. The bid for it is also $45. The quilts all came from the estate of Enid Snode, a library worker who passed away last summer. Some quilts she made and some she was given. The money raised will benefit the library.
