Steve and Lyla Steele of Cortez are happy to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their son, Jeffery Eugene Steele, to Brenda Rae Barger of Montello, Wis. Brenda is the daughter of Larry and Carolyn Barger of Montello. Jeffery graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 2000 and attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo. He currently works as a heavy equipment mechanic at Brooks Tractor John Deere Inc. in Sun Prairie, Wis. Brenda graduated from Montello High School and received her associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from Madison Area Technical College. Brenda now works for the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation as a Registered Sleep Technician in Madison, Wis. The wedding will be in Wisconsin on Sept. 21, 2012. The couple are currently living in DeForest, Wis.
