Eugene George Hoyt, 68, of Cortez, passed away July 25, 2012, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M.

Gene was born July 25, 1944, in Red Wing, Minn., the oldest son of Cyril and Rosselle Hoyt.

He is survived by his mother, Rosselle, of Aztec, N.M.; his daughter, Trina (Vladimir); two grandsons, Olin and Tristan, all of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Mike (Connie) of Bloomfield, N.M.; two sisters, Joan (Dennis) Wheeler of Bloomfield, and Donna (Steve) Cash of Hurricane, Utah; and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Summit Lake Community Church, 36501 Hwy. 184, Mancos. Marvin Graves will officiate.

Graveside service will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos, with a gathering of family and friends afterwards at the Mancos Community Center, 130 Grand Ave. Come and share your stories and meet with the family.
