Theola Jean McGahuey was born on April 10, 1928, in Wichita, Kan. to Clifford D. and Thelma K.M. (Gray) Lynch. She passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, at her Cortez residence at the age of 84.

On March 30, 1947 Theola married Jack Orville McGahuey. She worked for nearly 20 years as an environmental controlist at St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho. Theola loved to read magazines and shop at the thrift shop and Walmart.

Surviving Theola are her five children, Kathy Kester of Cortez, Debora Bowler of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Larry J. McGahuey of Cortez, Douglas J. McGahuey of Ellensburg, N.D., and Jesse McGahuey; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Theola was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Thelma Lynch; her husband, Jack McGahuey; and her siblings, Berndean M. Woodley, Berdia Harlow, and Wilbert Lynch.

Cremation will take place with no services planned.
