A Western singer and entertainer
Acclaimed performer comes to the area
There aren’t many opportunities to watch one of the top Western entertainers to person in Montezuma County.
But on Wednesday, July 18, that opportunity will be riding into the area.
Dave Stamey is an nationally acclaimed performer who will be providing his unique Western entertainment at Western Belle’s House Concert Series at 32229 Road P, Mancos. There will be a potluck starting at 7 p.m., so bring a favorite dish to share, and music begins at 8 p.m.
Stamey has twice been voted Entertainer of the Year, three times Male Performer of the Year and twice Songwriter of the Year by the Western Music Association, and received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists.
Stamey, as detailed on his website (davestamey.com), has been a cowboy, a mule packer, a dude wrangler, and is now one of the most popular Western entertainers working today.
During his performances, he engages the audience and takes them “on a rewarding journey through the panorama of the old West.”
An article in American Cowboy magazine featured Stamey and his CD “Twelve Mile Road,” which he dedicated to his father, “for trying so hard out there on Twelve Mile Road.”
The article said “(Stamey) paints a vivid portrait of his rancher father, Bruce Stamey, in the title track. ‘There’s an old gravel road, following’ the section line, out where lives are held together, with sweat and baling twine/ Where you rattle your bones on a tractor, over 30 years old, and there’s a mortgage and kids to be fed, out on Twelve Mile Road.’”
Tickets are $15 and are limited. Call to reserve your seat at 882-1413 or 729-8408, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
