Cortez Cultural Center turns 25

Facility offers unique programs, is a ‘catalyst for culture continuity’
This week at the center

The Cortez Cultural Center hosts Native American Dances Monday through Saturday at 7 p.m. The dances feature five different tribes from the Four Corners area
June 22- Arts & Crafts for kids ages 10 to 14 at 10 a.m. Claudia Sanderson-O’Hara teaches all manner of fun activities; all materials provided. Class size limited, so call soon to save a spot 565-1151. $10 per class or $35 for four classes prepaid.
June 22- Artists’ Reception for Kay Lang & Friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free and open to the public to “munch and schmooze with actual artists.”
June 23- Open House and Roof Warming at Hawkins Preserve from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Gala party to show off the new roof over the P2 Pueblo and dedication ceremony of thanks for donors of time, effort & expertise. Free food and comraderie in the great outdoors.

June 24- Unitarian and Universalist gathering from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. UU’s meet weekly for fellowship, ideas and coffee, free & open to the public.
June 25- Kelly Jenks lecture from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. “Building Community Along Cultural Frontiers: Vecino Identity in New Mexico” No reservations needed, free and open to the public
June 27- Beginners’ Luck Art class for Adults from 10 a.m. until noon All materials provided. $15/week members; $20/week others. Class size limited so call to save a spot: 565-1151
June 28- Amrit Yoga with Mimi Scott from 10:55 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
