The City of Cortez will be doing a chip-seal project this summer. Oldcastle SW Group, Inc., dba United Companies of Mesa County, is the City’s contractor. United Companies will be chip sealing various streets within the City beginning on Thursday, June 21, and continuing for approximately one week. Residents are asked to not park on the streets during daylight hours and to use caution while watering (so the sprinklers or excess water does not get the streets wet). The cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated, and will help in ensuring a quality job for the residents of Cortez. United Companies’ hours of operation on the project will be approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday. While area residents may experience slight delays, the City will attempt to keep any inconvenience to a minimum. After the chip seal is complete, crews will be returning in the following day or two to sweep and pick up the loose chips.

13th Street: Chestnut to Madison

Adams Street: Montezuma to Arbecam

Amanda Lee Lane: Harrison to East End

Arbecam Street: Washington to Adams

Cochita Drive: Mesa Verde to Brandon’s Gate

Coronado Avenue: Washington to East End

Denny Street: Trinity to Frontage Rd

Driscoll Street: Park to Mildred

Harrison Street: Empire to South End

Harrison Street: Montezuma to Coronado

Hartman Road: Memorial to 7th

Lakeside Drive: Frontage Road to Cul de Sac

Madison Street: Montezuma to Coronado

Post-sweeping of the following streets will begin on Tuesday, June 26 and will require two days, to be completed on Wednesday, June 27: Madison, 13th, 10th, San Juan, Memorial, and Hartman.
