Frank Lynn Bailey
He left a legacy of laughter ...
Frank Lynn Bailey passed on April 2, 2012 of ALS at The Hospice Family Care in Gilbert, Ariz. His organs were donated to the VA ALS Biorepository in Boston. Cremation was at Mariposa Gardens, Mesa, Ariz.
Frank was born in Dixon, N.M. May 28, 1931. He graduated from high school in Cañon City, Colo. and shortly thereafter joined the U.S. Army. He graduated with a BA from Western State College, Gunnison, Colo. in 1956. He was President of the Theta Chi fraternity in college and President of the Kiwanis in Cortez. His Masters degree was from the University of Northern Colorado in 1971. He was in School Finance and Business Management for Public Schools in Cortez, Grand Junction, and for Aims College in Greeley, Colo. for 17 years. He was Director of The Alaska Plan, Business Manager and Personnel Director for PCI and VECO, Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska for 15 years. After semi-retiring to Arizona in 1986 he was employed by Williams Air Base, Mannheim and Adesa car auctions. He pursued his love of the game of golf until March 2002 when he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette; daughters Cynthia of Mesa, Ariz., and Judy Goodwin of Elk, Wash.; grandsons Danny and Matthew, also of Washington state; Mother-in-law Helen Glendening of Montrose, Colo.; and Brother-in-laws Bill Binger and Wayne Colbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Franklyn Kirk, daughter Debra Lynn, sisters Marian and Flit, and by brother Glen.
Inurnment is Sunday, June 3 at 1 p.m. at Olathe Cemetery, Olathe, Colo.
