“Smoky” is a people person, and excels at giving and receiving hugs. She hopes her fortunes will change and she’ll get to become someone’s best pal. She’s got a beautiful short gray coat with a snip of white on her chest, and pale gold eyes. A young female around 3 years old, she’s super social and friendly. She’s not shy at all and is very affectionate; she loves being held, and will do great with a child. It’ll be hard to resist this gregarious little girl. Please consider bringing Smoky into your life, or one of the other sweet cats awaiting a home — including Turtle, Glade, or Tiger — and give one a chance for a happy life. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. They will be open this Friday. It is a great time to bring a new pet home. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy food, Purina or Pedigree dog food, and big rawhide chews to keep their dogs occupied. They can always use non-clumping cat litter and liquid laundry soap. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910. To view more animals, visit www.petfinder.com (enter 81321 zip code) or www. cityofcortez.com/government/animal_shelter.
