Letter carriers will Stamp Out Hunger with food drive
The Cortez branch of the United States Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers have announced their 2012 Stamp Out Hunger food drive. On Saturday, May 12, letter carriers across the country, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, will be collecting food for families in need. Area residents are asked to “Fill a Bag. Feed Families.”
It’s easy to help — just collect and bag non-perishable food items, such as canned meats or fish, soup, juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers. Place the bag(s) by the mailbox for the letter carrier to deliver to a local food bank or pantry.
