After studying journalism, working for larger papers and in public relations, Suzy Meyer began her tenure at the local newspaper in 1989 as a part-time regional reporter. She served as editor of the Mancos Times and the Cortez Journal and as general manager of the Montezuma County newspapers before being named publisher in 2004. She has been married since 1979 to Marc Meyer, a pharmacist and infection control practitioner at Southwest Memorial Hospital. They have raised two children who are now gainfully employed. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, birding, reading and writing Meyer is past president of the Colorado Press Association. She volunteers with various community organizations, including the Cortez Public Library Advisory Board and the Montezuma Community Economic Development Association, and serves as pastor of the Rico Community Church. |
