The Cortez Animal Shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed every other Friday for intensive cleaning. The shelter will be open this Friday. New summer hours will begin May 12, Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Cortez Animal Shelter also accepts donations such as bleach, Clay cat litter, Pedigree or Iams dog food, Iams puppy food, Purina cat chow and kitten chow, dish soap, paper towels, and dog treats.
