Pioneer Queen of Mancos Days Shirley Whipple enjoys reflecting on her childhood when she and her husband, Howard, both worked at Red Wing Potteries. She was in charge of hand-painting decorative roses and magnolias before the pottery was glazed. Her collection of Red Wing pottery is displayed inside a glass-door cabinet in her living room.
