Things are looking up for little Bow

Injured puppy might help shelter find homes for all its orphans
Chris Nelson, director of the La Plata County Humane Society, holds a crossbow bolt taken from the left hip of Bow, a 3-month-old Jack Russell terrier-shepherd mix. Bow was found with a crossbow bolt protruding from his hip near Shiprock, N.M.
Bow, a 3-month-old Jack Russell terrier-shepherd mix, has spent time with a foster home for rehabilitation of his injured hip and for socialization.
Chris Nelson, director of Animal Services at the La Plata County Humane Society, expects Bow will be an easy adoption, but he hopes people also will be interested in adopting older dogs, who have a tougher time finding homes.
