Downtown freshens up with public art program
Kathleen King has finished the mural on the side of Slavens True Value Hardware.

Goodell on “Working for a Living”: “It’s always a challenge doing murals because sometimes you can’t work for days. I could only work in the afternoon because the sun bounces off of east facing walls. It was blinding and it’s hard to see the colors with sunglasses on.”

Goodell on “Peach Harvest”: “There was a lot of research that went into it. There is a plaque on the mural now, about McElmo Canyon’s history, the awards at the World Fair and the restoration of the county orchards.”
